In honor of Inchworm, I pledge to improve my compass and map skills.

On July 22, 2013, Geraldine Largay, a 66-year-old experienced backpacker from Tennessee who went by the trail name Inchworm went missing on the Appalachian Trail. Her remains were found October 14, 2015. We’ll never know the last details of her life but we know that she was found 3,000 yards off the trail, two or three miles from where she was last seen.

We hope her untimely passing can serve as a wake up call for outdoors women everywhere to learn basic and practice compass and map skills.
